It can be a real challenge to build a great Web site. And it can be expensive.
A quick search online will reveal thousands of Web sites that are "giving away" WordPress themes for free. But you shouldn't use them. Most of these sites are offering pirated themes. Lack of customer support should be the least of your concern with these themes.
In preparing this article (42 Free WordPress Themes for Business) I found that many simply don't work. After you have installed and played with a theme for a few hours, you'll likely remember that your time is worth something too.
But the real concern is the risk of what else you might be getting inside of the theme. I read of themes with viruses and with harvesting software. These mini-programs collect your (and your clients) data and send it back to the software creator. Pretty smart, eh?
The collection of free themes that I've compiled are different. Each theme comes directly from the designer/developer. You will download the themes directly from their Web site. I should note that while I've tried many of these, I haven't tried them all.
Am I missing any? I would love to hear your recommendations. Just post a comment below.
