How to Measure Blogger Performance and Pay Them
A few weeks ago, I spoke at the BlogWorld Expo conference in Las Vegas about hiring bloggers.
I was on a panel titled "How to Hire a Professional Blogger for Your Business". I was honored to share the stage with blogging luminaries:
- Darren Rowse (Problogger.net) -- Darren is a cofounder of blog network b5media. He talked about the qualities you want in a blogger.
- Jim Turner (BloggersForHire.com) -- Jim places bloggers with companies for a living. He moderated the panel and kept us all on point.
- Will Chen (WiseBread.com) -- Will is the editor of WiseBread.com and talked about managing a team of bloggers (pdf handout).
My part on the panel was to discuss various metrics you can use to measure your blog's (and by extension, your Web team's) performance. I've re-written my talk as an article. Check it out to get the numbers you should be measuring, and how to use those metrics to properly incentivize your bloggers.
