Domain Name

From Gregory Go, for About.com

Definition:

The unique name that identifies a website on the Internet. Examples of domain names are About.com, Microsoft.com, IBM.com, GoDaddy.com, and Google.com.

Only letters, numbers, and the dash (-) is allowed.

Domain names are not case sensitive, even though they are sometimes written in camel case to help distinguish the words. For example, YouTube.com and youtube.com are equivalent.

Your domain determines both your website's address (eg., http://about.com) and your email address (eg., onlinebusiness.guide@about.com).
