Examples of social networking sites:

  • Facebook - The largest mainstream social networking site, many Web users have a profile on Facebook. Users can share pictures, play games with friends, and message others (both privately or publicly).

  • LinkedIn - A social network for professionals. You can find jobs, connect with colleagues and other industry players. Business networking taken online.

  • Myspace - One of the oldest and recently largest social networking site popular with musicians. It used to be popular with teens, but they have moved to Facebook.
