How I Got Setup Blogging - And How It Helps My Business
I set up my own blog using the WordPress platform and purchased a professional theme. I learned about the technical side of getting started by joining a membership site and doing a LOT of research.
I blog because I love to write and tell stories, and it's a wonderful way to begin establishing a online presence, build contacts and network. In addition to some small business consulting I will be selling my own eBook from the blog.
Also, this blog will be the launch platform for an ecommerce site I'm developing featuring a traveling with pets theme.
Lessons Learned
- Most of the mistakes I made were during the process of trying to find out who it was safe to take advice from and which tools to use.
- The best advice I can give anyone out to start a online business is to stay away from the "instant money" schemes and to think of this whole process in terms of building a business - because that's what this is all about.
